City Council Revises Hog Pen Ordinance After Debate
After lengthy discussion, the High Point council amended the hog pen ordinance. The rule reduces minimum hog pen distance to 75 feet from buildings in all city areas except along Main Street, where 200 feet remains. The change, inspired by petitions from Robert Brockett Sr., aims to ease hardship on meat prices while ensuring inspections and penalties for filthy pens.
