Car Damaged By Flames At Enterprise Street
Firemen reported a 1969 model car owned by Marvin Jacobs of Enterprise Street was heavily damaged by fire Sunday around 2 29 p.m. The inside was completely in flames when they arrived, totaling the loss. Cause undetermined. Separately at High Point College the electric organ motor overheated causing smoke but no damage. A false alarm from a box on W Ward Avenue occurred at 2 10 p.m.

Theft charges against two Randolph men in check fraud
Two men from Rt. 2, Randleman, are jailed in Randolph County on charges of stealing checks from Hill's Lumber Company Trinity and passing them at local stores. James Goss, 22, faces a $3,000 bond for a forged check at King's Department Store Asheboro. Jerome Goss, 16, with a $6,000 bond, is charged with forging two checks passed at Food Mart Randleman and Hough's Shoe Store in Randleman. The pair's bonds total $9,000.
