Clock collection gains value in modern market
Clock collector Bernard J. Edwards of the Chicago chapter of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors notes clocks have become strong investments. Alarm clocks from 1912 to 1940s now fetch 15 to 20 dollars, with war alarm pieces at 22 to 25 dollars. Double-dial calendar and railroad clocks are in demand. Edwards, with 100 clocks and 50 watches, reflects changing tastes from gingerbread mantels to newer favorites.
