Senate Ethics Panel Bans Cut-Rate Leasing for Senators
The Senate Ethics Committee forbids future cut-rate auto leasing for senators and officials after noting several had leased luxury Lincoln Continentals at about 750 dollars a year. The panel found no evidence of wrongdoing but urged an end to the promotional program. Ford Chrysler and GM acknowledged providing such leases. Ford said it will cooperate to terminate any remaining deals.
