Randolph County Board of Education postponed awarding bids for the proposed consolidated high school in the southwestern county until Wednesday. Superintendent John Law attributed the delay to clarifying that funds for the project become available on set dates and to ensure contractor understanding of the financial arrangements. He noted the deed from American Land Co. was not ready and said an unsigned letter of intent from county commissioners may still allow progress. The board also approved one year contracts for teachers with B certificates through August and seeks 10 high school and 29 elementary teachers for the next year.
