Mrs James Phipps Named State Operator of Year
Mrs James R Phipps of Young Flex O Later was named State Operator of the Year at the PBX Awards Banquet at the Holiday Inn Downtown. She emerged from eight contestants and received the award from 1973 winner Mrs Martha Hinson of Charlotte. The Raleigh PBX Club swept three other awards and D & Benson of Carolina Builders earned Boss of the Year. About 100 PBX operators attended as the 13th annual Carolinas convention opened with a party, sessions, fashion show and showroom tour.
