Lansford Pa Oct 3 Nine workers entombed in the Foster Creek tunnel at Coaldale were brought out alive this afternoon. They were discovered atop a chute built to escape a flood that broke from an abandoned working and caved more than 300 feet of gangway. The men were taken to Coaldale hospital where recovery is hoped for. A rescue by 200 mine workers and company officials spanned six days through choking conditions.

Kistler, 67, had left Lincolnton after a duel 40 years ago, later married and became a widower. Dellinger, popular and daughter of the late Pinkney Dellinger, had been staying with her sister Mrs A C Yount and the marriage was kept secret until departure on the morning train.
