Capture of whiskey on Catawba Springs Road Sunday night
Deputy sheriffs J Porter Burns and P P Jones seized a wagon of whiskey near Alien Bumgarner’s residence on the Catawba Springs Road. Elmore Lippard was arrested after attempting to misstate his name. The outfit included two barrels a siphon and a small keg. Lippard was bound over to Federal Court in 500 dollars. The confiscated stock was shipped to Statesville for disposal.
