Gastonia report notes E P Lewis of Lewis longstaple cotton has measured stalk heights each June 10 for 18 years. This year the peak height reached 13 inches, up from 10 inches last year. The minimum height historically was six and one quarter inches about six years ago. Lewis reports a fairly good stand this season.
