Bapti State Convention elects new secretary at Charlotte session
At the Charlotte session of the Bapti State Convention the election of a corresponding secretary to replace Rev. Livingston Johnson, who resigned, centered on Rev. W. R. Bradshaw and Walter N. Johnson, with the latter chosen. The convention will meet in Elizabeth City next year. The report shows 64 associations, 2136 churches, 63088 members, with 11262 active Women’s Missionary Societies and 220000 Sunday School enrollment.

Rowe Dead at 66 After Prolonged Ill Health
The death of fort Rowe occurred last Tuesday afternoon in Newton. Funeral was held from his late residence on Wednesday afternoon with interment in Eastview cemetery. He had suffered over two years of frail health and was 66. Survived by wife and six children, Rowe was a highly esteemed citizen active in county affairs and Church Circles and a leading supporter of Catawba college. His passing is mourned across the community.
