Gala Night Hallowe'en Party at Men's Club

Friday October 29 promises a large Hallowe'en masquerade at the Men's Club with ghosts goblins and mystery. The program includes athletic stunts contests dancing cake walk and a life saving exhibition plus an orchestra and a mask drive for a grand old fashioned celebration.

Rally at Y. W. C. A. Thursday

The Y W C A invites all to a rally on Thursday evening October 21 to meet teachers and help organize classes. Classes run terms from October 25 to January 30 and February 1 to April 30 with modest rates for Spanish and other study, and a chance to reorganize the Glee Club as interest grows.

Hershey Transit Receives New Car No. 26 From Brill Co

The Hershey Transit Company added car No. 26, an improved double rack passenger car from J. G. Brill Co. Philadelphia. It was delivered under its own power by Master Mechanic Wm. Zimmerran and Supt. J. R. Kreider after an eight hour start, covering 147 miles in ten hours on the route via Chestnut Hill Norristown Pottstown Reading Lancaster Elizabethtown Hershey. The car will begin regular service immediately on the Lobmon and Elizabethtown divisions.

The notice invites shoppers to visit the Hershey Department Store this Saturday and Sunday to take advantage of the Surprise bar gains and reconnect with friends not seen for a long time.

Beware of too much bull in Hershey fishing tale

Four prominent Hershey men led by Morris Hinkle staged a playful bull prank on Roy Lloyd and Tobey while fishing near Blue mountains. A mock stampede from Patty Miller triggered fear, but the victims were safely pranked and later apologized. The tale closes with a moral warning about bulls.

Republican Mass Meeting at Hershey Park Theatre

A Republican mass meeting will be held at Hershey Park theatre on Friday evening October 22 at 7 30. Speakers include Lieutenant Governor K K Beidleman Hon A S Kreider congressman and Emerson Collins deputy attorney general. All are urged to attend especially women voters.

Ham and Beans Dinner At Lutheran Parsonage Thursday

The Diakonia Bible Class hosts a ham and beans dinner at the Lutheran parsonage on Grenada Ave on Thursday October 21. Meals run 11 30 to 2 00 and 6 00 to 7 00 with modest charges to support the church fund.

Mr and Mrs Herman Luckenbaugh of Hummelstown announce the birth of son Robert Ward on Saturday October 9. Mrs Eatella Colledge of Duncannon is remembered. Mr and Mrs Joseph Blough of Palmyra announce a nine pound son Joseph Randall born Monday October 18. Mr and Mrs Homer Stahle of Hummelstown announce a ten and one half pound son Paul born Thursday October 14.

Moving Picture Program at Hershey Central Theatre

The program features Elsie Ferguson in Lady Rose's Daughter on Saturday October 23 with a special comedy, followed by Tom Mix in The Untamed on Monday October 25 and the second episode of Bride 13. The Woman in Room 13 starring Pauline Frederick screens Wednesday October 27 with a separate comedy. The Pirates Fangs episode two centers on Eleanor Storrow’s peril and ransom plot aboard a submarine as Ruth and Bob confront pirates at the Storrow mansion and theatre patrons are urged to attend.

Thrift and Insurance Address Delights YWCA Audience

Mr. R B Tietrick of Carliste spoke for an hour on thrift and insurance at the YWCA. He stressed saving, warned against waste, and urged prudent spending. Despite a small crowd, attendees praised the talk and benefited. Preceding music by Ruth Zell and post talk readings and refreshments followed.
