Hershey Band to Play Subscription Concert Tonight
JHE Hershey Band under S J Feese presents a no charge subscription concert at Hershey park amphitheater tonight. This opening of a five show winter series features two parts of orchestral and vocal works with a program including Trooper's Tribunal Poet and Peasant and Remicks Hits No 8. Admission is free and contributions support the band. The director asks all to attend at 8 pm sharp to start on time.

Street Crossings Planned From Hazardous Brick Pile
Brick stockpile opposite Hershey Store Company will be used to improve foot crossings on town streets. Street safety work targets crossings around town using on site material.

Hershey Park completes large outdoor pool
The 250 by 100 foot pool at Hershey Park is filled via spring water through a 10 foot diameter tank. Water depth ranges from six and a half feet at the deep end to three feet at the shallow end. The site will host skating this winter and open for swimming next summer.

Hershey Fire Company Elects New Officers
Hershey Volunteer Fire Company held its monthly meeting with 28 members present. Officers elected for the year include President William Brinker Vice President Aldus Wirth Secretary H A Newton Treasurer F B Snavely Chief John P Conrad Assistant Chief Hess Bigley and trustees C V Glynn Eli Rhine and Charles E Simpson. A subscription was started after adjournment to fund repairs for the pool table.

Night School Opens With Strong Attendance
Y M C A night school opened Monday evening in the South Pennsylvania district with twenty five present. Nearly forty applications had been made before opening and attendance is expected to grow. Eleven enrolled in stenography and typewriting, seven in book keeping, and seven in common branches. Miss Mumma teaches shorthand and typewriting, P H Reynolds handles book keeping, and E W Pocock directs common branches.

Pastor ROMIG to attend East Pennsylvania Conference
Reverend EV O G ROMIG of the United Brethren Church Hershey will travel to Reading for the East Pennsylvania Conference sessions. His annual report shows 33 new members, 144 sermons, 26 special addresses, 10 funerals, 9 marriages, 20 baptisms, and funds totaling 263 dollars for conference and mission causes with increases over last year.

Gee Begins Work at Auburn Theological Seminary

Oyster Supper Planned by Ladies' Guild at Hershey Park
The Ladies' Guild of the Presbyterian Church plans an oyster supper at the Y M C A gymnasium in Hershey Park on Saturday evening October 14. Supper will be served from 5 to 10 o'clock with a guaranteed good feed for all attendees.

Basketball Practice Opens With Strong Start
