Local Y M C A advances toward moving into new quarters in a couple weeks while committees push work. The board reports incorporation papers secured, October Night School enrollment at 84 with 95.7 percent attendance, and John R. Zoll hired as stenography assistant.
A twelve year old hunter Fred D Clark goes hunting with his fox terrier Trix and a 22 Winchester. He shoots a rabbit near his home shortly after dinner marking his third kill of the season.
The Hershey Trust Company’s latest report to the commissioner of banking shows surplus rising from fifty to one hundred thousand dollars. Additional measures indicate higher business activity and improved standing. Details appear on page two of this issue.
An old quilt, now owned by Miss Martha Keeney, travels through the Keeney family. Gifted by her uncle John Keeney, it originally belonged to her great grandmother Kinsey, marking the fourth generation to possess the heirloom.
The Young Women's Christian Association will hold a gathering Friday evening November 17 at 4 30 in Hershey Park gymnasium. Business, music, refreshments, and a social follow. A Harrisburg Library Commission member will discuss traveling libraries and the founding of permanent libraries as the group plans a traveling library for Hershey. Miss Mary J Hopper Industrial secretary will attend and outline winter work. The Hershey Y M C A serves as a positive example inspiring local efforts toward a permanent library.
The heating system installed by plumbers over the past two weeks was tested Saturday afternoon. The steam was turned on and the building heated nicely. After minor carpentry repairs, the theater will be ready for use.
