C B Greiner of Greiner Bros Stone Masons Palmyra fell 29 feet Monday afternoon from a scaffold at the building site for a new milk receiving station. He landed on his back, weighed 200 pounds, but suffered only a small arm scratch.
The Y M C A held a social evening in its nearly completed gymnasium. Members toured the facility while some tested equipment for fun. Music by Graphonola, brought by Joe Snavely, entertained the 85 men assembled Friday evening.
Dan Graeff and the social committee provided snacks and cider as the group gathered to hear reports from Secretary Pocock and Director Rogél. S. D. Clark urged support for the entertainment program, with 203 tickets sold and many members purchasing multiple tickets to resell.
Edward Miller, once employed at the P and R Station in Hershey, took seven dollars from landlady Mrs. Charles Stuckey after a week in town. Four boarders chased him to Palmyra and Hershey where he admitted taking the money before departing without paying his board.
Real estate sales by Hershey Improvement Company show one week of transactions: a stone and frame dwelling at Cocoa and Caracas to Albert Snavely. a brick dwelling on Areba Street to Peter Macrine. building lots on Trinidad, Cocoa, and Caracas avenues to buyers including Mary A. Gruber, John Bair heirs, Wilson Rhoads, Harper Snavely, Eli Rhine. Hershey looks to a busy building season as buyers from near and far arrive and values rise with Mr. M. S. Hershey’s town improvements.
The Her Shey Volunteer Company held its stated meeting Tuesday evening in the company rooms. A fair number of members attended and routine business was completed. The treasurer reported improving finances and thirteen new members were elected.
William H Fasnacht, night watchman at the Big Department Store, claims the year’s highest on duty hours. He reports every night for a year totaling 4927.5 hours, beating the prior factory record by 449.1875 hours.
The Y M C A offers reserved chair seats in the amphitheater for the winter entertainment course. Tickets bought with fifty cents and the course ticket allow one seat to be reserved for the entire series, at Cocoa House on the first floor. Reserved seats for a single show cost ten cents with prior week purchase.
