Dedication of Zion Lutheran Church Marks Centennial Events
Zion Lutheran Church celebrates dedication Sunday March 17 with Rev. D Burt Smith as pastor. Fred erick Hummel endowed two lots. the log church was dedicated in 1766 and burned in 1817. The limestone church of 1815 and the Brownstone church of 1892 were remodeled into modern spaces including a large auditorium and a new vestibule. The building features oak pews, a Moeller organ, a baptistery platform, green carpeted aisles, frescoes by C Day Rudy, electricity, steam heat, and multiple parish rooms for social, youth, and religious activities. Messages include sermons by Rev H H Weber and Rev D H Bauslin with community leaders in attendance. A week of services includes mon and tues gatherings, Wednesday women’s night, and an organ recital by Mr F A McCarrell. Public invited.

Oratorio Josiah set for post Easter by Lutheran group
A chorus of about 25 to 30 singers under Miss Mabel Earnest progresses the oratorio Josiah to be rendered after Easter. Soloists include Miss Earnest Mrs Henry Shope Mr Geo Karmony and Mr Richard Harnest. The biblical tale follows Josiah king of Judah reforming the realm at twenty, restoring the temple and reading the law before battling Necho and dying in Jerusalem.

Miss Snyder Takes Office Post at Hershey Company
Last week Miss Mary Snyder began work in the Hershey Chocolate Company office after completing a night school program at the Hershey Y M C A. She trained in stenography and bookkeeping and will receive a certificate after satisfactory winter term exams.

Rev Burtner to Speak at Hershey Y M C A Meeting
On Sunday March 17 at 3 pm Rev E O Burtner pastor of Palmyra First United Brethren Church will address the Hershey Y M C A on Why I Am What I Am. Forty men attended last week's session and Rev E A Sharp spoke on The Unchanging Christ.
