Hershey Park prepares a record Fourth with new zoo free to the public offering animals from around the world. A new restaurant seating a thousand, multiple eateries, swimming pool and concerts by a 40 piece Hershey Band plus vaudeville and moving pictures. The Heller Amusement Company promises a world class vaudeville bill featuring Mascot the horse, White and Day, Five Maltese Players, Duke Johnson and Mae Wells, Wilson Aubrey Trio and Triangle feature pictures.

Three live wires came to Hershey Monday and started something. They were graduates of the Pennsylvania State College and arranged State College Day for Saturday July 29. Sunshine Club Enjoys Ride and Outing
The Sunshine Club of the YWCA had a happy Monday with a car ride organized by Mrs. Serra I Hershey. Twelve members joined a trip to High Point for an afternoon on the lawn and refreshments were served. The Up-To-Date Club met Tuesday at the water works hotel for an outing and the Onward Club hiked to Palmyra with lunch in town.

A telegram from Camp Nepahwin announces the Hershey Young Women’s Christian Association earned the third prize for Association work in Pennsylvania. The honor marks Hershey’s rising standing among national clubs as 103 clubs competed and Onward Club of Hershey placed third after Harrisburg and Philadelphia. The community celebrates with the banner now displayed in the Hershey Store.

Rev John Irwin Meck recently earned a degree from Mount Airy Seminary Philadelphia and a Muhlenberg College graduate. He was ordained June 15 in Reading and wed Ruth Walbert June 24 at Macungie. The Mecks move to Palmyra, join Church of the Holy Trinity Hershey, with services alternating between Hershey and Palmyra as both congregations grow.

Amos Skiles of New Holland spent Monday in Hershey as the guest of Dr and Mrs FG Mumma. He was known in Hershey for his pitching with the Hershey nine during the 191d season and later led Mountville to many victories. Scouts sought him but he chose to stay in summer school for college preparation.
