Difficulties for Hershey Trolleys

The Hershey Transit Company operates 36 miles of track and faced daily snowstorm disruptions. J R Kreider and crew worked round the clock to reopen lines after a severe blizzard, with drifts up to eight feet high and lengths of 300 to 350 feet. The sweeping brushes, made of scarce rattan at 40 cents a pound, wear out quickly, and 1209 pounds have already been used this winter.

Care and maintenance tips to extend leather shoes

In lean times, treat leather shoes well to extend life. Use shoe trees, brushes, cloths, and natural oils like castor and linseed. Clean dust, wash with warm water, dry on trees, rub with oil, then polish lightly. Linseed oil helps waterproofing but avoid on fine or thin shoes. Polishes can harden leather. avoid harsh substances.
