Hershey Chocolate Corporation Wins National Truck Safety Trophy
Hershey Chocolate Corporation drivers and maintenance men won the national truck safety trophy in the American Trucking Association 1954 contest in the unlimited mileage tank truck class. They logged 781,927 miles with eight accidents totaling 46 dollars in damages. The award will be given in Minneapolis on May 11.

Hershey High School and Milton Hershey School choruses earned top ratings at the Pennsylvania Forensic and Music League state event in York. The Hershey High Mixed Chorus won Class A Mixed Superior and the Spartan Chorus tied for Class A Boys Superior with McKeesport. Hershey High posted six superior ratings across nine events, with notable performances by Jean Breneman and accompanists Karl Meyer and Helen Grubb.
