Spring Concert by Hershey High Band Impresses Audiences
The Hershey High School Band under Paul G. Fisher received high praise from a large audience at last Friday’s Spring Concert. Guest conductor Erik Leidzen led pieces by the ensemble and Karl Moyer’s Hershey High School March with an Alma Mater arrangement. The band’s twirlers were featured in a standout interlude, and the program reflected strong direction and hard work.

Milton Hershey Alumni Association Homestead Chapter held the first annual fellowship buffet for 185 attendees in the Community Dining Room. Speaker William S. Livengood Jr. Pa secretary of internal affairs gave an outsider's view of the school and cited M S Hershey's life as inspiration for graduating seniors. Introduction by John F. Rineman. Barbershop quartet Three Quarts and a Pint provided music.

Cancer Crusade Volunteers End 1955 Derry Campaign
Sixty seven volunteer workers in Derry Township wrap up the 1955 Cancer Crusade as April designated Cancer Month ends. Funds support national cancer research, service and education with local funds used for direct cancer work. Co chairmen Mrs E M McMullen and Mrs S F Hinkle led a long list of volunteers including Mrs Richard Bacastow Mrs Willard Johns Mrs Delores Bilotta Mrs S B Bilotta and many others.

Lions honor safety patrols in school cafeteria tribute
Hershey Lions Club hosted 68 school patrol members from Derry Township and St. Joan of Arc parochial school in a indoors tribute. Major Thomas F. Martin and Private Russell Catshall addressed the patrols while Benjamin Jenkins oversaw party games. Lions committee leaders were William C. Clark, Russell Zentmeyer, Frank Schwartz, Arthur Rizzo, David Uhrich and Gethin Kurtz.
