Judge Medina to Speak at Milton Hershey School Commencement

Judge Harold R. Medina renowned for the 1949 trial of eleven Communist leaders will headline the Milton Hershey School graduation June 6 in the Hershey Community Theatre. Medina, a U S Court of Appeals judge and educator, rose from Brooklyn to Princeton and Columbia Law, teaching and writing while building a long legal career.

Reverend Dr Paul W Hoon to address Hershey High seniors

The 214 graduates of Hershey High School will hear Rev Dr Paul Whitman Hoon, Union Theological Seminary professor, speak at the 1955 commencement in Hershey Community Theatre next Thursday. Hoon, born in Chicago, earned BA Yale, BD Union, and PhD Edinburg, has served Methodist churches in PA NY CT and taught at Drew Theological Seminary.

Historic Rite For Ground Breaking

A ceremony will mark the groundbreaking for a new Episcopal Church at Elm Avenue and Valley Road. The service uses an old English Order for Breaking Ground and Bishop John Thomas Heistand will preside and turn the first shovel.

Baccalaureate Sermon Set For Hershey Graduations

Rev. William Sheldon Blair, Derry Presbyterian pastor, will deliver the baccalaureate sermon for Hershey Junior College and Hershey High School on Sunday evening at 7 30 in the Hershey Community Theatre. The Hershey High School Chorus performs with student musicians Sandy Stover Lois Shuler Karl Moyer Laura Jean Breneman Fay Eshleman Donald Ebersole and Carlton Hoffer.

Naval Commander to Keynote Memorial Day Ceremony

Commander Russell R. Hedgecock, executive officer of the Navy's Ships Parts Control Center at Mechanicsburg, will deliver the Memorial Day keynote for Derry Township. He will speak at the Court of Honor ceremony after the parade at the Community Building. He previously directed the Applied Science Division, Research and Development in the Bureau of Ships in Washington, D. C.
