Groundbreaking Held for Hershey-Elizabethtown Area Elementary
Ceremonies mark the start of a new Conewago Township elementary on the Hershey Elizabethtown road with Hershey representatives John B. Sollenberger and Milton Hershey School Board member W. H. Earnest, along with donors Mrs. Glenn Farrer and others. The brick school will have eight classrooms, a kindergarten, special education space, a multi purpose room and cafeteria adjacent to Shanks Church.

The invitation invites retired Hershey Chocolate Corp shop employees to the annual picnic on Saturday June 22 at the Palmyra Sportsmen's Association grounds near Coffeetown from noon to six in the evening. Retirements Honor Hershey Worker Rocco DiClemente
Rocco M. DiClemente of 271 Hockersville Road retired June 1 after forty two years and four months with the Hershey Chocolate Corporation. Born May 20 1892 in Goriano Sicoli Italy he came to America in 1910 and joined Hershey in 1915. He plans gardening and home repairs. his wife Anna and children Diva Dominic Donald Dino Divo, plus three grandchildren, survive. He belongs to St. Joan of Arc Church Italian Club and Hershey Volunteer Fire Company.

Playground Opens Full Summer Program Next Monday
Memorial Field Playground will launch its full summertime program on Monday, June 24, announced by director John K. Hanshue. Staff under Hanshue includes Mrs. Raymond Evans, Miss Virginia Strawderman, and Charles Longer, with Evans and Hanshue leading regular activities, Strawderman directing arts and crafts, and Longer supervising evenings and equipment.
