Retired Hershey Worker Plans California Sight-Seeing Roam

Spencer H. Leed, retired from the Longitude Department after fourteen years with Hershey Chocolate, will roam and visit relatives starting in a month or two. He and his wife Anna live near Campbell Town at the cottage they once operated with their store run now by sons-in-law Lee Flick and Charles Hallman. Their granddaughter, child of Mr and Mrs Hallman, is part of the family.

Local Residents Honored by VA Veterans Voluntary Service

Hershey residents serving at the VA Hospital in Lebanon received certificates of honor on a national recognition day. J M Herbst earned 1000 hours for Certificate of Devotion to Volunteer Duty while Stanley Spehr gained Outstanding Service for 500 hours. Louise Burke received 300 hours for Certificate of Merit and 100 hour awards went to Lee Cappelli Mabel Hoy Gethin Kurtz Margaret Mehler Sarah McMullen Jerome Parisey A W Prang Verna Dressler and Allen Hammond.

Hershey High School 7th graders plan their annual party Friday evening from 7 to 9 30 in the school gym. Prom Plans Announced By Three Hershey High Classes

Hershey High students schedule proms with dates in April and May. The Juniors host a gym prom April 28 from 8 to 11 p.m. with chaperones listed. Sophomores plan May 5 in the Community Club Social Room from 7 30 to 11 p.m. with Mil ton Hershey High School band. Freshmen held their prom April 14 in the high school gym from 7 30 to 10 30 p.m. with theme April in Paris.

Hershey Residents Set For Observing Daylight Time

Hershey residents will move clocks ahead one hour this Sunday to observe Daylight Saving Time along with Pennsylvania neighbors. The Hershey Chocolate Corporation and Hershey Estates will switch at 2 a.m. Historical notes trace daylight time to Paris, Willett, Garland, and finally U.S. Congress action in 1918.

Hershey Fishing Derby Day opens registrations for youths

Hershey Community Club invites Cadet members and guests under eight to register for the third annual Fishing Derby Day on May 5. The event runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Spring Creek from the Juvenile Golf Course to David Gray's home bridge. Prizes await the three largest fish. Stevie Miller won last year.

Derry Township High to Represent at State Forensic Music Contests

Derry Township High School will be well represented at the State Forensic and Music Contests in Pittsburgh this weekend. The delegation, chaperoned by Dr and Mrs W Paul Campbell and members of the Parents Music Association, traveled by bus. Participants include Arthur Mentzer in Serious Declamation.
