Forty Fourth Annual Sessions of Illinois W C T U at Aurora
The forty fourth annual sessions of the Illinois Woman's Christian Temperance Union convened at Aurora November 21 22 in the First Presbyterian Church. Miss Helen L Hood of Chicago opened with remarks on continuing dry America and victory in temperance and war efforts. Speakers included Mayor Harley Fred Shearer Rev Horace Cady and Mrs D W Cromer. The program featured music by St Cecilia Ladies Quartet and Arthur Lay. The group approved a strong push for constitutional suffrage and continued anti tobacco work in schools.

SITTERLY SURVIVES WAR ADVENTURES OF SPRING VALLEY AVIATOR
Glenn Sitterly, a Spring Valley aviator and former flying companion of Alan Ash in France, is alive on furlough in Paris. He sent a cable on November 9, stating he did not return to the front before the armistice. His letters recount narrow dies at the Marne, heavy anti aircraft fire, and a daring crash landing saved by French airmen.

Patterson Stepping Down After 32 Years As Putnam Bank Cashier

The community figures his health will improve first, but his cheerful service to Putnam and Hennepin is noted as a record of strong service. County Superintendent W A Paxson becomes the new cashier and is expected to perform well.

Mrs Earl Shaw aged 35 dies of influenza on November 7 in Charleston South Carolina. She was born April 4 1983 in Ox Bow Putnam County and is survived by her parents Mr and Mrs C H Ransom her husband Earl Shaw a son Lewis Martin from her first marriage a brother William Ransom and many relatives. Funeral conducted by Elder John Boman at the Baptist church with burial in Magnolia Cemetery Charleston.
