New county officers took oaths and bonds on Monday in Marshall County marking the first time Republicans held full sway at the county capital. Appointed officials include County Judge Andrew Tracey County Clerk L D Gregory County Treasurer L N Osborne Sheriff William S Riddell with bonds approved. Clerk’s bond 15000 Treasurer’s bond 127000 Sheriff’s bond 10000. Superintendent of schools Willard E B King is elected but not yet vacant. bond 12000 with Frank E Wilson and John I Thompson as bondsmen. Deputy positions assigned to George W Cowan and L B Thiedohr in the clerk’s office Scott Osborne deputy treasurer Worth Dix on remains as sheriff’s aide Mary G Riddell and Frank E Wilson among bondsmen for the sheriff.

Hiltabrand in a quiet family ceremony attended by Miss Houston of Chicago and Miss Spencer of Magnolia. After vows the couple left for Camp Johnson Florida. locals wish them long, prosperous years together and a future near Magnolia.

Miss Fay Arp last Monday died in Louisville at a hospital from pneumonia after teaching in the public school here and then joining the Continental Lyceum company as a singer. Her funeral will be held at her aunt's home in Moline. The community mourns her loss and Miss Brown mourns most of all.
The certificate sugar distribution plan ends December 1. No trade class will require certificates after then. Wholesalers must limit sales to customers to a four pound monthly sugar per person. Dealers must stop family sugar sales reports after December 1 and November reports must reach the office promptly. Save food eat wisely without waste.
