City Council Passes Sidewalk Advertising Ban Ordinance
The Henry Illinois council met March 7 1910 approving a ban on painting chalking or defacing sidewalks and crossings. The measure sets fines from 5 to 100 dollars and takes effect after passage and publication. The session also approved bills issued for water works night watch street work and publishing notices. Mayor Paskell and clerks certified proceedings and election judges were named for the April 19 1910 city vote.

The Brotherhood club of the Presbyterian church held its semi monthly meeting with about 50 members present. George A. Burt’s motto All for Good Good for All won a large vote. Prof King and Rev Burger led talks on the clubs aims. A minstrel sketch entertained, then refreshments and social time. Sunday services include Sabbath school at 9:45 and morning sermon at 11 on The Spiritual Life and Its Several Enemies. Union service planned at the M E church. M E Sunday school officers were chosen at a Tuesday meeting. A temperance service and various church activities are announced for the week. A Ladies Aid bazaar is set for March 19 with a home bakery.
