Mrs. Mary Doherty widow of Michael Doherty died February 10 1912 after pneumonia aged about 75. Native of Ireland she lived in Saratoga township Henry and Joliet and was a St Joseph’s church member. Funeral at St Joseph’s on Tuesday at 10 am Rev Fr Brennan. Elizabeth Bateman wife of Walter Bateman died age 38 at home of her mother in Henry after long illness. She taught school and left husband mother seven brothers and two sisters. Funeral at St Joseph’s Catholic church then burial in El Paso cemetery. The pallbearers were six brothers.

Mrs. Fred Potter thanks the Singbad The Sailor Opera Company for a Silver Baking Dish presented last week. She enjoyed meeting and working with the group and praises their ambitious earnest effort. Mrs C A Jones entertained guests at Carroll street with a Merry Go Round club Euchre evening at her home. Five tables were used, with pleasant refreshments and an enjoyable night.

Clarence Ray Applen and Eva Mary Mooberry wed last Wednesday Feb 7 at First Presbyterian Pearis parsonage. Attendants were Joseph Phillips and Nina Mooberry. They hosted a supper at the bride’s Allentown home with family and friends. The bride, organist and former Henry High graduate, moved from Henry to Allentown in December with her family. Mrs Behameh Thomas died at her Main street Henry Illinois home of pneumonia at 3 a m on Wednesday February 14 1912 She was born May 27 1827 in Marietta Ohio and married Frank Thomas about 64 years ago in Hennepin They moved to Henry 13 years ago to care for son Dr Wallace Thomas Eight children were born to the couple with five preceding her in death She leaves surviving children Mrs Van Eaton Zenia Ohio James A Chicago and Wallace Henry plus 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren She was for years a member of the ME church in Henry and is to be buried beside her husband near Hennepin Funeral by A K B Smith.
