Mrs Douglas Chance Dies After Prolonged Illness
Mrs. Douglas Chance died April 17, 1914, at 8 30 p m after a long illness from cancer. Born October 1843 in New Jersey, she was 70. She married Douglas Chance in 1880 in Henry, had two sons Caleb who died years ago and Fay, the survivor. A former writer for The Henry Republican, she belonged to St Josephs Catholic Church. Funeral was Monday at 9 am. Rev Fr Brennan offered a mass and reflections on eternity. Interment in Henry cemetery. A B Smith funeral director.

Mrs Malissa Johnson born Indiana July 14 1856 died April 20 1914 aged 58 years 9 months 6 days. She lived in Missouri since childhood married S M Johnson March 26. Six sons and three daughters survived with her husband. Funeral at Methodist church April 22 conducted by Rev J E Mercer with neighbor women as casket bearers. Interment at Henry Cemetery.
