Blaze damages Turpin Sawmill near Henry
A Tuesday night blaze at C. J. Turpin's Turpin Sawmill two and a half miles east of Henry damaged a pile of newly sawed lumber and the engine shed, destroying a belt and the engine while sparing the main mill. Firefighters fought the flames for hours aided by light winds and no spread to the mill buildings. Reconstruction will begin promptly with plans to resume operations soon.
