Graves of Wyoming Resident Dies at 81
Jomes Graves 81 resident of Wyoming died Sunday morning at his home on South Seventh Avenue. Born March 22 on a farm south of Wyoming he was the son of Thomas and Cox Graves and last of ten children. He married Lucy De?on February 5 1885 at Beaver Wisconsin. He farmed on the Graves end until retirement about 80 then served as rural mail carrier for many years. Surviving are his widow and other family.

Clarence Ellsworth Clemens died Thursday evening June 4 at his parents home in Florid Illinois from tuberculosis and diabetes. He was a carpenter and painter lifelong in Putnam County except 12 years in Bureau County. Survived by wife Ida Hassler five children parents one brother and one sister. Funeral services were held Sunday at Dysart Funeral chapel Granville with interment Florid Cemetery.

City Institutes Speed Limits and Stops Along Roads
The State highway department installed new signs and a four way stop at Edwards and Third streets through Henry city. Route 29 through the city now carries a 45 mph limit, while highway 89 C from route 29 to Third street is set at 30 mph and 25 mph beyond Third street. Officers will be stationed to enforce the changes.

Bureau Tavern Looted for Fourth Time
The Bureau tavern of Joe Kurtz was robbed early Thursday with a Crosley radio, bottled goods, and 320 dollars stolen. Entry was gained by prying an iron bar from a rear window. Sammy Kurtz discovered the back door unlocked Thursday morning. Sheriff Perry Miller investigated but found no clues. This marks a fourth break in at the Kurtz building.

Final corn hog payments distributed to Marshall and Putnam farmers
The second payment of 1938 corn hog contracts totaling 103000 dollars has been distributed to farmers in Marshall and Putnam counties, about 85 percent of the due payments. This final payment precedes the 1936 soil conservation program which requires shifting 15 percent of the base to soil conserving crops. Farmers without new seedings in 1986 may apply limestone to qualify for the remaining payments.

Toluca Man Badly Hurt in Car Crash
Bruce Ricci of Toluca is in serious condition at a pre-Spring-Valex hospital with pelvic bone fractures on both sides and other injuries after a car overturned near Cedar Point. He was pinned beneath the vehicle when the door flew open after colliding with a truck on a gravel road. Red Harrison and the truck driver were uninjured.

Gov Henry Horner signed bills creating permanent voter registration in Chicago and nine downstate cities on June 6. Services for Capt. Sol York longtime river pilot on the Illinois were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the R. O. O. Green parlors. Knights of Pythias oversaw the service with Dr. B. G. Carpenter officiating. Burial followed in Henry cemetery. York died a week earlier at Peoria Methodist Hospital after a heart attack.

County Board in Session Names Litchfield Chairman
The Marshall county Board of Supervisors met in the county courthouse in Lacon for its annual organization session. Ray Litchfield, Bennngton township, was named chairman and thus head of the board of review, with John Garvin and Miller as holdover and retiring members respectively. Miller’s successor to be named by County Judge D M Greger soon. Routine duties dominated the meeting including audits and bill payments. The Illinois Emergency Relief unit was ordered to vacate the courthouse by July 1 and be replaced by the Old Age Pension staff. Supervisors Harper, Bogner and Hoge joined the finance committee.

Jacob F. Wagner 79 longtime Princeton resident died at his Park Avenue East home after years of illness.
