McNabb Farmer Peter Kuhne Ends Life
Peter H Kuhne a 53 year old McNabb farmer died by hanging at his farm home after a birthday celebration with family. Coroner Dr W P Hartman led an inquest where jurors ruled the death self inflicted during temporary derangement linked to his mother’s death earlier in the year. He left a wife Cora and three children Le Roy, Clarence and Marion fielding grief as funeral rites were set at the M E church in Henry with burial in Henry cemetery.

Colt Killed After Collision On Hard Road Near Fairgrounds
Mr and Mrs Calvin Schlosser survived a late night car collision on the hard road near the fairgrounds when a yearling colt owned by H J Schmoeger wandered onto the road. The colt sustained two broken legs and was euthanized. Investigation showed the fairgrounds gate had been left open allowing the animal to wander. The colt belonged to Schmoeger's racing stable and was considered valuable.

Mrs. Bertha Klein died at her Henry home Wednesday afternoon after a years long illness. Funeral services will be at 2:30 Friday at St Marys Catholic Church conducted by Rev Andrew Schauer with R O Green in charge. Interment follows at Calvary cemetery. St. Mary's Parochial School Holds May 30 Closing
Closing exercises for St. Mary's Parochial School were held May 30 at Henry gymnasium. A three act play The Cobbler Prince delighted a crowd of several hundred. Thirteen pupils performed in twenty two numbers. Rev J J Leven gave the address and diplomas were presented by Rev Fr A Schauer. Diploma recipients included Dorothy Hank Ormond Karn ey Herbert Mattern and Lucille Konrad. The class motto is Honor Loyalty and Truth with blue and white colors and tea rox flower. Visiting priests attended and praised the program and teachers who planned it.

Auto crash near Wyanet leaves Mercer uninjured
