Last Rites Held Saturday for George Rickey Sr
Funeral services for George Rickey Sr. were conducted by Rev. J A Johnson at the M E church in Sparland Saturday afternoon at 2 p m. Interment followed in Sparland cemetery. The 58 year old Sparland area resident died of a paralysis stroke Thursday at 6 p m. He married Inez Hamilton on November 21 1897 and leaves wife three daughters Mrs Anna Davis Mrs Jennie Rowe and Mrs Mildred Springer all of Peoria a son Clifford at home three brothers Jacob Will of Henry Robert of Saratoga township and one sister Mrs Minnie Clarence of Henry Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Man Held for Questioning Over Stolen License Plates
Delmar Cook was arrested near his rural home on a charge of stealing license plates from William Hoff's car. Hoff identified the plates on Cook's vehicle. Cook denied the theft, saying the plates were supplied by a Princeton man who later offered to buy a license for Cook’s car. The man allegedly placed the plates on the car. Cook was released after an overnight jail hold.

A federal reforestation camp will be established along Coffee Creek in Putnam County under the national conservation program. Col Dan I Sultan pledged the plan to Congressman Everett M Dirksen.
