Hendersonville planners push Ninth Avenue rezoning vote
Hendersonville Planning Board narrowly backs rezoning on the south side of Ninth Avenue from medium to high density allowing up to three duplexes amid concerns about traffic and preservation. Contactor plans include a 75,000 square foot health sciences facility for Wingate University and Blue Ridge Community College and Pardee Hospital. Residents oppose the move citing traffic, preservation of an urban wildlife area and potential loss of homes and trees.
