Hendersonville Co-Op to Offer Premade Deli and Expanded Seating
The Hendersonville Community Co-Op plans a March reopen with grab and go premade sandwiches, more indoor seating and outdoor seating under trees and an arbor. Since 1978 a buying club, it incorporated in 1987 and opened a market in 1992 on South Grove Street, expanding to house offices and a demonstration kitchen. Despite competition from Whole Foods and Earth Fare, loyal members and staff anticipate strength through the cooperative model. Funding for construction came from members and the Self Help Credit Union along with several development funds and USDA support, totaling 820000 raised from members over 18 months. The new store will open by March.
