At the Transportation Advisory Committee meeting, officials explained that projects move from idea to state road plan via scoring on safety, congestion relief and cost benefit. Local TACs forward proposals to the French Broad MPO for regional prioritization, with DOT promising to weigh concerns like rock walls and trees and to tweak or drop projects as needed.
