Saint Paul Vineyards Sweeps Two Top NC State Fair Honors
Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards earned two Best of Show awards at the 2017 North Carolina State Fair Wine Competition. Its Laurel Hill semi-dry Vidal Blanc won in the bunch grape category and Chestnut Gap Cottage dry blackberry won in the fruit honey category, with 12 additional medals including one double gold, six silver, and five bronze. Winemaker Stephen Rigby and owner Alan Ward praised the grower’s Appalachian foothill region for vinifera suitability. The event occurred August 18-19 at the North Carolina State Fair.
