Henderson County Department of Public Health and Council on Aging to distribute 175 senior emergency kits funded by a $10,000 Bright Ideas grant from the NC Public Health Preparedness Branch. Prep on Wheels backpack kits include light source radio blanket water food first aid items and sanitation items. Volunteers will distribute kits via Meals On Wheels routes with seniors advised to add personal items and important papers. One recipient Johnny Sams thanked organizers stating this gift is more than anyone has given him.
