Laurel Park shop eyed as first rail trail draw
Local business owner Hunger Schnitzer hopes a possible Hendersonville to Brevard rail to trail spurs traffic and life along Laurel Park. The cafe will seat 40, a new deck may start soon, and the shop now operates from 1314 Asheville Highway after relocation. Schnitzer donates 10 percent of Christmas tree profits to the Boys and Girls Club. A separate zoning move in Hendersonville would allow pet sitting at 1516 Fifth Avenue West as a conditional use with strict limits and licensing.
