Kanaga Road widening cutbacks seen in talks with DOT

Hendersonville officials praised top NCDOT Division 14 engineer Brian Burch for reviewing compromises on the Kanaga and Highland Lake widening projects. The Kanuga Road plan would widen to 64 feet, sparking resident opposition over rock walls trees and yard loss. officials say negotiations have reduced right of way by about 20 feet and eliminated bike lanes and sidewalks to protect property while adding select turn lanes.

Post office moves to Blue Ridge Mall in Hendersonville

The Hendersonville Post Office will relocate next spring to the Blue Ridge Mall occupying about 7,000 square feet in the former Sears space. Sears will move within the mall. The USPS plans a 10 year lease and will offer full services with mall and parking lot entrances.
