Hendersonville leaders back greenway along Mud Creek on Kanuga plan
Henderson County Commissioner Bill Lapsley Hendersonville mayor pro tem Steve Caraker and Flat Rock council member John Dockendorf endorsed a separate Mud Creek greenway as a compromise to remove bike lanes from the Kanuga Road widening project. They briefed NCDOT Division 14 Engineer Brian Burch and urged a feasibility study to prove the plan can serve cyclists and pedestrians safely. The group described the proposal as an elegant compromise and noted the creek path runs from Jackson Park under South Main Street and near the new Publix site along Greenville Highway.
