Curtain closes on Marini era at Flat Rock Playhouse
Vincent Marini resigns as creative director amid debate over the theater’s financing and future. Community leaders, supporters, and skeptics urged a calm, united plan to stabilize finances, boost ticket sales, and secure long term survival. The Playhouse faced a 2010 $1.4 million loss and a 2012 debt tied to the Robin R. Farquhar Education Center. Downtown venue draws 35,707 last year and Hendersonville City Council funded $30,000 for next year, underscoring ongoing economic development debates.
