Honey and Salt in Flat Rock opened March 16 after a year of planning by Starr Teel and Erin and Edward Hill. The cafe emphasizes locally sourced meats cheeses and baked goods with gluten free options and a breakfast oriented menu aimed to rival Asheville spots. Popular items include skillets and smoothie bowls while sourdough breads are baked on site in a bake house below. The owners expect to extend hours and may add alcohol to brunch offerings.
