Henderson County housing starts surge in first five months
Henderson County Building Inspections shows an 81 percent rise in housing starts for the first five months and a 21 percent lead for the first 11 months of the fiscal year ending June 30. Permits totaled 259 since Jan 1, up from 143 in the prior year period, with calendar year construction value at 83.8 million, up 47.2 percent. Commercial work reached 36.9 million, up 53 percent, while total fiscal year new construction hit 139 million, 27 percent above last year. Remodeling and additions declined. Century Park Associates, based in Cleveland Tennessee, runs over 40 senior living communities in 21 states.

Hood receives Century Park Associates 2015 Chairman's Award

Rising Leaders deadline nears for 2015 2016 program
The United Way Rising Leaders Program invites applications by Friday, June 26. Launched in 2011 and run by Friday Staffing, the free, year long course trains future board members and key volunteers for United Way of Henderson County.
