Mills River backs five lane N C 191 widening
Mills River Town Council voted 4-1 to endorse a five lane widening of N C 191 from N C 280 to Mountain Road with bike paths and a multi use path. DOT offered a four lane with median option but kept a continuous center turn lane. Opponents vented anger as turnout peaked and echoed by county officials amid a stalled bypass project.
