Flat Rock Council Endorses Road Project Amid Opposition

The Flat Rock Village Council voted to advance a safety road improvement despite objections from Cultural Landscape Group activists who gathered 1,700 signatures opposing the plan. State engineers negotiated concessions over 2% years to minimize land use, while the council warned the project must proceed now or risk a 20-year delay. The plan may include widening a corner to improve northbound turns, a move the Historic Board might oppose due to the Flat Rock Historic District.
