Henderson County Construction Sees 2015 Gains Across Sectors
Henderson County reports strong 2015 gains in housing and commercial activity. Residential permits rose from 339 in 2014 to 616 in 2015 and new residential units climbed 82 percent while new commercial work increased 42 percent. Total new construction value reached 169.4 million, up 41.6 percent, with 111.3 million in new houses and apartments and 58 million in new commercial buildings. The Health Sciences Center at Pardee Hospital contributed to the uptick, while mobile homes and residential remodeling fell. Inspection fees rose 37 percent to 1.2 million.
