Mills River boat ramp damaged by record rainfall
Mills River suffered heavy flooding from 10 inches of rain December 28 to 30. The town boat launch and parking lot were damaged, with sand on the riverbank and debris clogging the river. A temporary cleanup is planned with landscape crews to fix the road and remove sediment while estimates for a permanent flood solution are sought.
