State trooper saves woman on I-26 bridge on Valentine’s Day
State Highway Patrol troopers prevented a possible suicide on Valentine’s Day when Trooper Christopher Jeffries and fellow officers helped a distraught young woman on the U S 25 overpass near Naples. Jeffries spoke with her, restrained her from jumping, and other troopers aided in stopping traffic and securing her safety before she was taken into custody for help. The incident drew praise from Col. Glenn McNeill for the troopers’ selfless actions.
