Hendersonville names Lee Galloway interim city manager

Former Waynesville city manager Lee Galloway was hired by the Hendersonville City Council as interim city manager to replace Bo Ferguson who leaves to become assistant city manager in Durham. Galloway, a UNC Chapel Hill graduate and Brevard native, begins Dec 17 and will serve until a permanent manager is hired.

Blue Ridge health leader named president of NC family physicians

Dr. Shannon B. Dowler, chief medical officer at Blue Ridge Community Health Services in Hendersonville, was installed as president of the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians at its Asheville meeting. She is the first medical director of a Federally Qualified Health Center to hold the post, serving a one year term. Dowler stressed mentoring as vital to the specialty and leadership. The event drew over 830 attendees, the largest state meeting of family physicians in the U.S.
