Sandburg Home wins $1 million for dam repair at Front Lake
National Park Service approves 1 081 600 to repair Front Lake dam at Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site. Work targets erosion, faulty pipe, and sediment, with design due this December and repairs starting mid 2025, finishing mid to late 2026. Front Lake bridge and access will remain closed until safety and stabilization improve.
