Franklin Texas November 25 725. Life is what we make it. Down on the farm is no exception. The speaker recalls fifty one years of farming and loving the work, describing family life, a home hearth built by hand, children, and a big black dog guarding the baby as they enjoy simple pleasures and reflect on faith and the world God has given us.
A farmer recalls loving his home and stock, describes helping neighbors and hosting preachers, and cherishes memories of family evenings and music. He speaks of building a cottage, enjoying village gatherings, and ends with a thankful note to the Giver and good will toward all.
Agricultural specialist R. W. Persons from the College visited Wheelock Nesbitt Owensville Franklin Eaton and Union schools. He receives club work reports from all counties and noted Franklin County has the state’s largest club membership with a close second place.
In Red River and Robertson counties teachers influence a large club membership with plans to display poultry at the County Fair and Calvert Poultry Show. A potential community fair is noted. Cliff Lopez of Brazos county reports record cotton yield per acre, earned trips to the State Fair and Chicago International Stock Show, with support from Bryan Chamber of Commerce and others. A ditch survey for O G Hudson near Hearne promises to improve 50 acres of land. half a day was required.
Promoter says Dr. Mellenthin, a Texas licensed physician, does not treat chronic appendicitis or common ENT issues but lists wide results in stomach liver bowel blood skin nerves heart kidneys and other disorders. It cites several Texas patients with gall stones heart trouble rheumatism headaches and appendicitis and notes free consultation on his trip with a demand that married women be accompanied by husbands. A. W. Wilkerson of Austin spent Sunday visiting his brother W. A. Wilkerson at his home in town during the weekend.
